Write and Reflect - Sonoma County Writers Camp
With Elizabeth Stark and Ellen Sussman
July 24 - 28, 2024
How this works: You’ll submit 1000 words of a scene or section you’ve struggled to bring to life. Maybe it’s been hard to get the drama onto the page, maybe something else isn’t working—yet. Whether you’re afraid of melodrama, uncertain about believability, insecure about bringing out the fierce conflicts at the heart of powerful character growth, our passionate, close read will give you specific guidance for getting the drama onto the page. Building on your strengths and areas for growth, we’ll guide you into new writing as well. Leave this effective, transformative session with confidence and clarity about getting that drama onto the page–while getting grounded in your own writing life!
Bonus Add-On: Limited to 18 Guests!
July 28-31
$1350, open ONLY to Camp Participants
Follow up your camp immersion with three days of writing retreat with Ellen, Elizabeth, seven other writers and YOU. Build on the inspiration you’ve gained, maintain the focus, and keep writing. Ellen and Elizabeth will be writing, too, with early morning mediative “writing from where you dream,” ongoing cafe writing sessions in the later mornings and afternoons, shared meals and walks, and low-key, high positivity evenings of sharing work, chatting about books.
COVID POLICY: For your safety and ours, we require proof of vaccination AND negative test result from all visitors to Ratna Ling Retreat Center. We wish to provide peace of mind for all of our residents and guests.
